Lesson 66: All Christians have certain responsibilities to each other.

John 1:11-12 He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become sons of God, even to those that believe on His name.

Matthew 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”

Duties to God and His Church: In the Church of Jesus Christ, we agree, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love, to comfort & encourage each other, and work for the advancement of the Christian community. We have a responsibility to God and each other to learn, live in holiness, to promote growth, spirituality, worship, church ordinances, discipline, and Biblical doctrines. These responsibilities apply to all of the women and children who call themselves Christian, but the Men of the church are more responsible to God to lead the way, and be Godly examples of Christ-likeness!

God expects the Men to be the leaders in their own homes and families, and Men are to be the leaders and set the example for the women and children in the church. Is God calling you to be a pastor? Is God leading you to be a Deacon? Is God leading you to be an usher?

If you are not called by God to serve in an official office of the church, then you are still being called to lead by example, both in your family and in the church.

Look at the following verses. What do they say about Christians sharing the Christian Life together in Love? What is God saying to us that we are to do about promoting the advancement of the church and promoting it’s prosperity and spirituality?

John 13:34-35 “A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.”

Philippians 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the Gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
